Happy Birthday, beautiful girl.
Thank you for being such a wonderful friend. Thank you for constantly making me laugh with your wit and dorkiness. Thank you for knowing me inside and out. Thank you for the sleepovers, the adventures in the attic, the 72-hour study sessions, the emails you sent me while I was in Germany, the phone calls, the notes, the decorated lockers, the 3-hour conversations about politics, the dates with “the soccer guys,” and the awkward hugs. Thank you for being with me when I came back from Germany.
I am so grateful for our friendship, Ana. I’m so happy that I could meet you in middle school even when we could barely communicate with each other because I spoke too fast and you were still learning the language. You have are the sweetest person I know. I have loved that we have grown out of our awkward middle school stages together and that I’ve been able to be a part of your life. I’m excited to see you soon.
It’s almost 1 in the morning, which means I’ve missed your birthday by almost an hour. Sigh.
I love you.
