First of all, Happy December from the Cousin Crew!

(Sans Bryant)

And because I didn’t write a Thanksgiving blog, I want to tell you now that I’m thankful for…

Jen—For having the fight to be different. And for showing me how important it is to be myself.

Bryant—For being loving and welcoming, for driving me to school when I wake up late, for including me in activities, and helping me find friends.

Seth—For always being kind, inviting, and chill. For being one of my favorite people to talk to because he’s so damn funny and smart. I just love Seth.

Tarl—HE’S BACK FROM UKRAINE! I haven’t seen him since I left for Germany! I’m thankful for Tarl because of his motivation to do the tedious things, for going to Wal Mart, on errands, on double dates, and out to breakfast with me, and for motivating me to be a better person.

Spencer—For making my life fun, for listening to me, for making me laugh until I snort, and also laughing at my stories, for making me feel witty!, for making me feel calm and less anxious, and for doings things for me even when he doesn’t want to.

José—For making work a positive atmosphere and talking to me.

Stephen—For helping me learn my salads and sandwiches and being my dear friend at work.

Dad—For trying really hard to have a virtual relationship with me. For talking on the phone with me, even though it feels odd. Also for talking to me when I’m at home. I am thankful for his inappropriate jokes. And for surviving the awkward two years of us barely talking to each other. I am thankful for Dad always loving me.

Mom—For teaching me to love the simple things—the plants you grow, the dressers you paint, the blankets you drape over the couch, journals and pens and ink, smiles, and the twinkle in people’s eyes. I am thankful for Mom being my best friend.

And a little update:

-As of Tuesday, Spencer and I did the DTR (Determine the Relationship (And yes, my next Dating Q will be about DTR so be ready, Pam and Derek)) and we are together! ☺ Just so you know, we’re on our, like, fifteenth date or something. I stopped counting after the fifth. I haven’t mentioned any dating since the third date, so just wanted to let you know that this isn’t sudden.

-Ana got into BYU!!!!! It’s not a surprise, she’s brilliant, but I am THRILLED! Yay, Ana!

-Next week I am moving in with my grandparents. I am excited and sad at the same time. Excited, because it’s MY GRANDPARENTS who I can’t get enough of, I’m going to be living DOWNTOWN SALT LAKE, which is one of my favorite places in the world, and, if I do it right, I’ll be able to live without a car for most of the time. Yuss.
Sad, because I won’t be with the cousins every day. I’m gonna miss seeing Ollie and Annie during the week, or going on random Wal Mart trips with Bryant and Tarl in the middle of the night. But I’m still part of the cousin crew. I’ll still see them. It’ll be great.

  1. We need to hang out over Christmas break. You’ve disappeared again! How come I had to READ about the fact that you have a boyfriend? Please, update me. I miss you and we haven’t talked hardly at all since the last time I went home. I’ll be moving back the 14th.

  2. I know, I’ve disappeared. Family stuff, then Tarl got home, the working my butt off, and now finals. My last final is on the 14th. YOU haven’t updated me either, girl! Write me a message! Also I don’t work on Saturday so can we skype in the morning, perhaps? Love you.

  3. You’ve had a DTR? Is he moving in too?

  4. Yes, he’s moving in too. Once the fifteenth date hits, you move in together.

  5. I never had a DTR. That must be something you young people do nowadays. It used to be that if you had dated someone 15 times you were in a relationship, no need for a DTR. Ahhhh the good old days. 🙂
    Have fun.
    Good luck with finals!

  6. Thanks for the update Anne. We are still wondering about the kissing rules 🙂

  7. Hey Annie bananie. You NEED to come over. love ya
