Today was a lazy or relaxing day. I woke up at 9:30, which was heavenly. I got on my computer and saw that Spencer was on Skype and he immediately pushed the call button. He was in bed and couldn’t sleep. We talked for 20 minutes until I said he had to go to bed. I don’t know if he did or not.
Spencer helped the family he home teaches move in today. He is now paintballing with my family because it’s Uncle Ed’s birthday and it’s tradition to go go carting, but this year they’re going paintballing.
“I can’t wait to shoot Louise,” Spencer said, grinning through Skype.
“Don’t you dare hurt my grandmother,” I said.
Grandma, I hope he didn’t shoot you.
At 1pm Svenja and I went running. She runs everyday for about an hour. I didn’t realize until we started running that she did cross-country and umm, yeah, can run! It was a good kick in the butt and we ran for about 5 miles.
She took me through a small village outside of the city, then through a forest and to the canal. Tall trees, cool wind, dirt paths, and water. It was perfect.
Later I took a bus down to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and checked out where all of the trains went. I figured out how to go to church in the morning, so hopefully everything works out tomorrow.
There’s been a lot of in-between time. I am hand washing my clothes in the sink upstairs with laundry detergent because I don’t want to pay money. I have a headache that keeps coming on and off.
Sitting on your computer is a huge no-no, by the way, when you are out of the country. You just shouldn’t do it. I think I’m going to write up a list of what to do on an exchange. Then I’m going to make a picture to go with it and have a “Pin It” button underneath. That’s right. I’m going Pinterest on all of you.
I’m thinking I’ll leave my Skype open and go to sleep. If Spencer calls, I’ll hear it.
Have a lovely, lovely weekend.
More pics from the house: (Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of the run, which was the most beautiful part of my day. You’ll see it soon.)
