The Ed and Dede family were going out with Grandma and Grandpa up the canyon to Ruth’s Diner when they passed our apartment complexes and said, “Hey, let’s call Anne and Spencer.” I had just gotten out of the shower when Hank texted Spencer. I grabbed my make up bag, put on a dirty shirt (it’s been a while since we’ve done the laundry) and drove up to meet them.
Ruth’s Diner has that outside charm, but we were expecting it to be a little bit warmer. Thankfully, after a group of people at the table next to us left, we snagged the second heater. Then it was okay.
Ed and Dede come into town and we live like kings. They give us gas money, free dinner, and work to do, like putting IKEA furniture together for their Salt Lake house, mowing the lawn, and shoveling the walkway in the winter time. We’re grateful for them.
